Apparel archetype NikeLab and Italian material mavericks Stone Island recently debuted the second installment of their ongoing collaboration: the newly imagined Windrunner.
The Windrunner is a mainstay in the Nike brand. The uber-versatile outerwear exploded onto the athletic scene in 1979, and the most recent iteration pays homage to the past while innovating for the future.
When it came time to tell the visual story behind the collab, Italian agency Sartoria Communicazione brought on LA-based French photographer and director Xavier De Nauw and Giant Propeller to give the reimagined Windrunner a fresh, future-forward feel.
Xavier, best known for shooting some of the most iconic hip hop talent of the 90s, conceived a vibrant yet edgy visual narrative and brought it to life in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.
Giant Propeller cast and contracted the talent, and produced the photo and video shoot that served as the official communication for the acclaimed Windrunner release.
